Reviews
I've been a regular here for years now and can't believe I still haven't left a review. One thing I love about this place is the food quality consistency. You actually notice the freshness of it. I don't think I remember a time when it was off. Service is usually good as well. The interior is well decorated and I like the dining room intimate design (and how it's not super loud). Although it can get busy, I've never had trouble finding parking.
I have many favorites on their menu, including the saffron Mediterranean salad( I think that's what it's called), the Ghormeh sabzi and more recently their chicken wrap accompanied with the side salad and the yummy balsamic vinaigrette. Their lunch prices are seriously ridiculously cheap for the amount of food you get and they are generous with the side of bread and sabzi.
Finally, the desserts are fresh and yummy. I particularly like the raspberry dome (I think that's what it's called).
Keep it up!
We ordered family style and loved everything as it was all extremely delicious!
The shrimp kebabs, salmon kebabs, and lamb were perfectly cooked and had incredible flavor and spices!
Our server and bartender we very friendly and attentive, always mindful of our beverages.
Recently tried Zafron for the first time and really enjoyed it. The inside is so beautifully decorated and the lunch time atmosphere was nice. The pita we were given to start off with was a little overcooked and crispy but they made us another one and it was perfect. The baked goat milk feta cheese appetizer was a highlight of the meal - highly recommend! We also enjoyed the wings, shrimp kabob and the koobideh kabob. Don't skip dessert - they started off as a bakery and it shows! The chocolate mousse cake was incredible.
Great service and nice ambience inside. They have outdoor seating and a special sunroom for private parties. The food is excellent and if you call ahead you can be seated quickly. We arrived at 6pm. The noise level is low which is nice. Parking is free too. The tandoori chicken is marinated and the jeweled rice is my favorite. I had a watermelon margarita and the next visit a strawberry. You should try this place for lunch and you will love it.
Great Persian food… I haven’t eaten this type cuisine before but I found this was a surprising and delicious experience. The kabobs are extraordinary!
I've been a silent patron for years. Though I've only dined in a handful of times, my family and I have spent easily $2000 here and only now have come to regret it. Birthdays and special occasions were spent here. The food isn't life-changing, but what I pay for is their consistency.
My most recent dine-in left a taste that even their pillowy rice couldn't mask. Our server was short and condescending, as if he were impatient and stressed, but the restaurant was empty and awkwardly silent. After ordering two $40 entrees, one shrimp kebab and one mixed plate, our group was dissatisfied with a cranberry rice that was more cranberry than rice, and when we asked for a side of the plain, our server shrugged his shoulders, barely placating us as his attention was more focused on the towel drying the wet knives in his hand. He said that he told us we shouldn't have tried something new, but why would we not try the dish how it was supposed to be made? To be punished for being curious at a restaurant is enough to never go back.
When we addressed this with the manager after our server took five minutes to give a to-go box after passing by three times, the manager stated that he would talk to him but it was really busy, so we needed to be compassionate, but it wouldn't happen next time (as if).
We didn't want comped meals or free drinks, but compassion, but his tone was anything but understanding and the subtext was that he didn't care, and it showed.
My friends and I are food service workers at acclaimed restaurants, so we understand the perils of serving and customer service, but I have never received service compelling enough to leave a scathing review until this experience with our server.
So, we've talked about going to Zafron for a while now, but never got around to do it. We actually got a gift card like 3 years ago, and never used it.
A few days ago we finally went and had an amazing experience. I wanted to highlight not the fantastic food (and it was fantastic) but one unique experience we had when it comes to customer service.
After a delicious meal we wanted to pay with our gift card. As I mentioned, we bought it a few years ago, and apparently it had a 12 months expiration date. Not only did it expire, Zafron actually changed to a different vendor for their gift cards and their current system could not read our outdated card. At this point we were ready to pay, but were VERY surprise when the manager told us he noticed a phone number on the back of the card, called the older vendor, figured out how much money we had on the card, discounted the meal for us, then gave us a new gift card with the remaining credit.
This is the highest level of customer focus I've seen in a LONG time and I feel that the owner and manager need to get tremendous credit for how they treat their customers.
We intend to go back and enjoy the delicious food, they have definitely earned my business.
I was worried their food wasn’t good because there were only 4 people dining on a Thursday night around 8pm. That was not the case. I ordered the trio appetizer (mirza ghasemi, spicy hummus, garlic yogurt) and it was very good. I really liked their naan. They’re fresh, thin, crunchy, and soft. For entrees, I had the Soltan and the shrimp. I enjoyed the Soltan more than shrimps. The beef koobideh was juicy, soft, and flavorful. Beef barg was good though, although not as flavorful. The shrimp just needed a little bit more flavor. Food was oddly similar to Rumis. Will definitely be back.
